It's hard knowing what to do when you're about to adopt. But, we make this process even easier when you adopt with us, because we have trained staff that will go over questions or concerns you and your family might have on introducing your newest pal to the family, negotiating through a long distance adoption or advice on what type dog may be the best fit for your lifestyle. Although the "small but mighty" Chi Society has always been and will continue to be a Chihuahua rescue, we're now extending the long arm of rescue out to many different breeds of small, fluffy, curly and wiry haired dogs...:)
In the past ,we have helped whatever small breeds randomly came our way, but our new initiative allows us to create the same efficient adoption flow for other breeds that we had originally set up for Chihuahuas. In order to do this, we'll need to hear from Poodle, Yorkie and Maltese lovers, mini Schnauzer lovers, Lhasa and Shih Tzu aficionados or any other small breeds you have an interest in. We know that many people have a love for a breed and feel that it's easier to integrate another of a similar breed into their “Pack” as a foster.
While New England shelters are practically devoid of these small cute fluffy dogs, our Southern Rescue partners have shelters bulging with great dogs of all kinds. Because these breeds typically get adopted very quickly, anyone offering to foster will most likely not have their fosters for very long. Drop us a line with your comments, what small breeds you prefer and if you have ever considered fostering....we would love to hear from you....feedback from the adoption community will help us get this program up and running!
