We realize that surrendering a dog can be an emotional
experience and that events do occur in peoples lives that leave them no other
alternative.
This is something that you should take under careful
consideration and should not be done as the result of a snap decision.
If you have reached the conclusion that it is best to
surrender your dog, we will need the following:
Copies of all medical records and a certificate of rabies
vaccination
A signed surrender agreement and statement outlining the
reason for surrender
A surrender fee of $100.00. Note: If you are surrendering the dog due to
financial hardship, the fee may be waived and absorbed by The Chi Society of
Ct.
Any items or supplies such as a dog bed, crate, leashes, shampoo,
etc. that you may have for the dog.
We ask that you transport the dog to us in central
Connecticut. If we must collect and
transport the dog, a nominal transportation fee will be charged, based on
mileage.
We don’t believe in making anyone feel badly about
surrendering their dog, we know it is hard enough to do without additional
negativity. Contact us by email at TheChiSociety@yahoo.com
or by phone at 860-633-1167. We will do our very best to either place your dog
in a foster or permanent home, subject to the number of dogs and the available space we have at that
particular time.
We reserve the right to refuse any animal, for any reason at
the discretion of the management.
